You Can

May 20th, 2013 — 8:30am

Weekly Glo

So much of sticking to a routine is about what we tell ourselves about sticking to a routine. We can make up our minds to do anything. But as you stick to that routine for the fifth, sixth or twentieth week in a row, the mental game begins. The reasons why we might need to skip a workout creep in. All the ways an extra day off sounds good begin to…sound good. A goal in mind can seem unattainable if we let ourselves listen to the negative voice in our heads that says “You can’t.”

Tell Yourself You Can

We’ve all been there. We’ve all wrestled with the “you can’ts” and some of you may be right smack in the middle of you cant-itis. FitnessGlo trainers to the rescue! We’ve gathered a few of the best YOU CAN! advice from our trainers to help you through this week:

Join me in telling yourself one oh so important thing this week: YOU CAN.

Our Bodies as Gardens

May 7th, 2012 — 9:58am

It’s time to kick off another amazing week of life and all that it brings our way – including our health, well-being and fitness. As we think about our workouts this week and get into the spirit of #motivationmonday, William Shakespeare is inspiring us to think about all the ways in which we choose to tend to the gardens of our bodies. Will we be growing vibrant flowers and sustainable plants that thrive? Or are things withering a bit here and there? How can we honor ourselves this week by being good gardeners?

Ilyse Baker On Excuses

April 2nd, 2012 — 9:23am

Ilyse BakerIlyse Baker, one of our amazing instructors on the FitnessGlo team, has a great post today about setting aside excuses. She tells the story of meeting someone on a plane who has struggled to lose weight and get fit for many years.

You’ll have to read her entire post to get the pure enthusiasm, joy and hope she shares, but our favorite part is this:

“Sir, what you are saying are just plain old excuses. Everyone is busy and yes, life does get in the way. We have to remember that working out should not be a chore, it should be an added enjoyment to our lives that we make time for. We should choose a workout that makes us happy and excited about life. It needs to be your way to release stress and connect with yourself.”

Sound familiar? Life does get busy, it is hard to fit it in and work can get in the way. But only if we let it.

Here’s to an amazing week of workouts on FitnessGlo – get out there and dance, dance, dance! No excuses!
